Abstract:
The Effect of Emotions on the Preparation and Perception of Archival Exhibitions
The aim of this paper is to describe a method for demonstrating that emotions significantly influence both the authors and visitors of archival exhibitions. It references research showing that archival exhibitions are among the most effective means of communicating with the general public. By focusing on emotions rather than merely presenting facts, exhibitions could become more accessible to a broader audience, thereby enhancing the openness of archives as institutions. The paper provides a methodology for analyzing archival exhibitions, addressing both visitor perception and the preparation by exhibition creators. Through such analyses, it will be possible to determine how to design archival exhibitions that resonate deeply with visitors' emotions, thereby motivating them to engage more thoroughly, learn, and explore new topics while linking detailed content to existing knowledge.
